PRESENTER

Kev Reed has been hosting shows on radio stations since 2009. Cutting his teeth on Big L 1395 for many years, focussing on the sixties and seventies to now being on air with Mildenhall based 105.3 Zack FM hosting the weekday lunchtime show. Zack FM also broadcasts on DAB radio to Cambridge and Kev’s home city of Norwich.

HISTORY

Turn back the hands of time quite some way, Kev got the radio bug when he was a kid. This led to him setting up his own disco show in 1990 which was in operation until 2002. Kev then joined Big L 1395am in 2009 and was on air with the station until 2020. Kev still has a limited involvement with the tech side of things to this day,

STYLE

Kevs style of presentation is laid back and welcoming, always respecting the listener and not being too opinionated. Kev prefers to interact with listeners in a warm and relaxed fashion whilst engaging with and discussing the matters of the day. Kev is at home with both live and voicetracked shows.

STUDIO

Kev is fortunate to have his own studio to broadcast with. The heart of the operation is the Centos based, Rivendell playout system, kitted out with M-Audio sound cards for a noise free stream. Microphone is the ever reliable and well respected Shure SM7B. The studio is able to push out mp3 and opus streams, either processed or clean. The playout music library is WAV and very comprehensive, covering the 50s to to the recent releases of the day. The Rivendell system is fully featured and capable of automated uploads / downloads via FTP.
